The Mothman Museum
Just up Main Street, the world's only museum dedicated to the Mothman legend explores the strange events of 1966–67 through newspaper clippings, recordings, and props from the 2002 film The Mothman Prophecies. A must-visit, and the anchor of Point Pleasant's most famous story. (400 Main Street)
Point Pleasant Floodwall Murals
Along Riverfront Park, a series of murals painted across the flood wall tells the story of the region — from Native American life through the town's founding, the Battle of Point Pleasant, and beyond. A free, open-air history walk just a short stroll from the hotel. (2nd Street)
TU-ENDIE-WEI STATE PARK
At the confluence of the Ohio and Kanawha rivers, this park marks the site of the 1774 Battle of Point Pleasant and is home to the Point Pleasant Battle Monument. West Virginia's smallest state park, and one of its most historic. (1 Main Street)
POINT PLEASANT RIVER MUSEUM & LEARNING CENTER
A museum dedicated to the life and commerce of the Ohio and Kanawha rivers — the trade and culture that shaped Point Pleasant and, in its early days, The Lowe Hotel itself. (28 Main Street)
THE MOTHMAN STATUE
The town's famous metallic Mothman statue stands on Main Street — Point Pleasant's most-photographed landmark and an essential stop, right across from the hotel.
KRoDEL PARK & FORT RANDOLPH
A short drive from downtown, Krodel Park offers a 22-acre lake stocked for fishing, walking trails, a splash pad, and camping. It's also home to Fort Randolph, a reconstruction of the 18th-century fort, with reenactments and events on weekends from May through December.
Point PLeasant in Fallout 76
Point Pleasant and its famous Mothman were recreated in Bethesda's Fallout 76, set in a post-apocalyptic West Virginia. The game brought a wave of new visitors to town — players making the trip to see the real Mothman Museum, statue, and Main Street for themselves. If you know the game, you'll recognize the streets.
